As ell as the 4-stroke engine, at the beginning of the XX century, this type of engine progressively replaced the reciprocating steam engines. This exemplar, courtesy of the Technical High School Vittorio Emanuele III of Palermo, has been fully restored at the workshop of the Museum in 2012.
